Intu Properties’ leadership maturity stems from strong reporting through the voice of the leadership, both the Chairman and the CEO. ‘Bold, creative and genuine’ values underpin Intu Properties’ engagement with all its stakeholders, adding to the integrity of reporting. Intu Properties stands almost alone amongst its peers for appreciating the relationship between landlord and retail tenants, resulting in a strong investment case being made through its detailed and creative responses to retail trends. Good governance report with vulnerabilities related to board succession, effectiveness and independence well addressed. Excellent links are made between remuneration, performance and company strategy, also rem equity. Regarding green building, while ITU appears to have moved beyond basic compliance by piloting solar PV and waste recycling, it has yet to put forward a competitive strategy inline with its otherwise compelling product offering.
