ANG exploits its experience across a wide range of geographies to provide an excellent big picture view of the different ESG risks and opportunities it faces. The overall impression is of a well-oiled machine, run by a competent yet caring CEO, set up to manage its non-financial issues efficiently and with a strong business focus.
A possible consequence is the impression that ANG has a compliance approach towards some of its more obvious issues. There were some gaps in reporting, in particular, the company appears to be more focused on managing its relationships with local communities than actively encouraging the development of the local economies in which it operates.
